Course Curriculum:
Week one
Overview of yoga postures and introduction to some basic postures and movements, such as downward facing dog pose and basic sun salutations – learn safe and strong alignment tips. Introduction to simple meditation and breathing and their benefits. Introduction to Savasana, the final relaxation pose.
Week two
Introduction to some key standing postures, their purpose and benefits. Poses covered will include Mountain, Crescent Moon Lunge, Warrior l and Warrior ll. Followed by a short meditation and breathing practice.
Week three
Introduction to more key standing postures, their purpose and benefits. We will also look at balancing postures such as Tree and Warrior lll. Followed by a short meditation and breathing practice.
Week four
introduction to heated vinyasa moving into hip openers. Followed by a breathing practice. This class will end by looking at seated postures such as forward folds and twists with longer holds in the style of yin .
Week five
Introduction to how to move through the spine in your yoga practice – we will learn how to safely elongate and strengthen the spine through backbends. This class will end by looking at seated postures such as forward folds and twists. Followed by a short meditation and breathing practice.
Week six
Bringing together everything we have covered so far into a full class practice including elements of pranayama, postures and meditation. Another chance to ask questions guidance on where to go next with your yoga practice
Cost:- £60 for 6 week course or £12 drop in, subject to space.
